PROFESSIONAL INVESTIGATION STANDARD

VerifySweep Investigation Intake Standard

The minimum information that makes a suspicious-listing report useful enough to investigate.

1. Identify the subject

Include the exact business name and preferably a Google Maps or Business Profile URL.

2. State the concern narrowly

Describe what you observed instead of starting with a conclusion such as “scam” or “fraud.”

3. Separate facts and theories

Put personally verified observations in one section and suspicions or possible explanations in another.

4. Provide reproducible sources

URLs, screenshots, dates, public records and official credential directories make a case easier to independently review.

5. Describe the relationship

If multiple listings appear connected, explain exactly which public identifiers overlap and where they were found.

VerifySweep standard: Evidence should support the exact statement being made. A suspicious indicator is a reason to investigate, not a verdict.
