A company credential claim and an individual credential are not always the same thing.
Step 1 — Ask for the technician's name
If a company advertises certification, ask whether the scheduled technician personally holds it or whether a credentialed person will supervise the work.
Step 2 — Ask for the exact credential
Write down the credential name and issuer rather than relying on the word “certified.”
Step 3 — Verify through the issuer
CSIA credential directory · NFI Find a Pro · F.I.R.E. official website · NCSG official website
Step 4 — Ask about relevant experience
Certification is valuable evidence of education, but system-specific experience, manufacturer training and continuing education can matter too.
