A recognition for documented breadth of education and meaningful contribution to the chimney or hearth industry.
Required before publication
- At least two distinct, current professional certifications independently verified from authoritative sources.
- A documented contribution to the industry, supported by a public source or reviewed evidence.
- A completed VerifySweep editorial review that identifies the person, credentials, affiliation, evidence, and review date.
What qualifies as a contribution?
Examples may include substantial teaching or mentoring, published technical education, standards or association service, safety advocacy, long-term documented volunteer work, or another reviewed contribution that benefits the trade beyond the individual’s own business.
What the badge does—and does not—mean
The badge is VerifySweep editorial recognition. It is not a certification, license, guarantee of workmanship, ranking of every professional, or endorsement by CSIA, NFI, F.I.R.E., NCSG, or another organization.
Professional credentials remain separate facts and link to their own verification sources. The recognition cannot be purchased and does not change credential status or directory ranking.
Evidence first. A nomination, company biography, longevity claim, or certification logo alone is not enough. If evidence becomes stale, disputed, or no longer satisfies the standard, the badge is withheld or removed while it is reviewed.
